Previously, she was the OSAY event coordinator, Vice President, and President. She is the proud owner and co-host of a Top 100 History Podcast, The Pithy Chronicle LLC! Vice President: Cherise Menard I’m originally from Orange, CA where I met Phil, my husband of 27 years, in Kindergarten. We have been a Navy family for 19 years and moved to Yokosuka in December 2016. We have 3 children; 1 college graduate, 1 college Freshman, and 1 high school Sophomore. I have a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science/Sociology and a Masters in Business Administration. I served on the OSAY board in 2017/2018 as membership co-chair and have been involved in several organizations on base. I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring Japan, cooking and baking, creating macrame, and cuddling on the couch with my dog, Raymond. I’m really looking forward to serving our spouse community. Treasurer: Jasmine Biggness I was born in Charleston, SC where I met my husband while he attended The Citadel. After graduation, he commissioned and moved to San Diego, CA. I met him there a year later, and a year after that, we were married. Our second duty station was Norfolk, VA, where I was very active in the Surface Officer Spouses (SOS) Norfolk organization. While in Norfolk, I served as treasurer for SOS for 2 years, and we had our first child before we moved to our third duty station. We welcomed our second child two years after our first, and I am a stay-at-home mother. This is move number five now, and we are very excited to be in Japan. A friend told me about OSAY, and I am very excited to join the ranks and help this awesome organization! Secretary: Sherri Tobin I am a 3rd generation Navy brat. I currently serve as chaos coordinator for five boys and one husband. You can find me reading or planning a trip, near or far, if I find any spare time. Communications: Lauren Claus I am a New Jersey native with a background in communication and e-commerce. After a career as a Social Media Producer for HP, I moved to Hawaii to work as the Marketing Director at San Lorenzo Bikinis and E-commerce and Marketing Specialist at Tori Richard. While in Hawaii I met my Husband, Louis. We got married in August 2023 and PCSed to Japan a couple of days later. You can find me on Ikego with my goldendoodle Poi. Membership: Tess Poppert Tess Poppert has always been a hopeless wanderer. Yokosuka is her 18th official address, 4 of which are courtesy of the US Navy, with Yokosuka being her first OCONUS address. She is happily married to her best friend of half her life, Reilly, and she’s been living that Military Spouse dream for the past five years. Currently, she is a stay-at-home mom to Liam (2) and a self-published author of a futuristic dystopian YA series on Amazon called the Lux Series. Her background is working in Higher Ed Marketing, Event Planning, and as a Ballroom Dancing Instructor. Her hobbies include consuming copious amounts of literature, slowly but surely killing all of the herbs in her window sill garden, attempting to capture everyday magical moments via iPhone, and playing three instruments equally poorly. Her passion each duty station is for hosting events and bringing people together in her own home. Being a part of the OSAY Board seemed like the perfect way to continue to do that on a greater scale. Events Manager: Ali Maruca Alison (Ali) Maruca is a Navy wife to Nick of 10 years, mom of three kids, PAO in the Navy Reserve, and a staunch advocate for Navy families everywhere. She and her family have lived in Yokosuka since August 2022, but have been stationed here twice previously. When she isn’t working, drilling, or shuttling her kids to a plethora of activities, Ali enjoys writing, adventuring throughout Japan, and an having occasional date nights with her husband. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for Japan through future OSAY events and meeting more of the amazing spouses who are part of our incredible community. Hikes/ Cultural Outings: Hillary Stickler I was born and grew up in Orange County, California, so I am thrilled to be back near the ocean! My husband's platform took us to Oklahoma and Nebraska, so I haven't been this close to the water since flight school way back in 2007! My husband and I met while Midshipmen at the Naval Academy, and since then, I have been fortunate to have been stationed in one place long enough to attend and graduate nursing school and begin my career as a bedside oncology nurse. About eight years ago, I made the jump to healthcare IT to support and create charting tools for hospital staff, and I loved being able to blend my first degree (Electrical Engineering) with my nursing background. In November 2021, I had our first child, Carmen, and I was able to stay home with her while working since my position was moved remote during the Pandemic. This is my first time not working in my adult life, but I feel more exhausted than ever "just" being a SAHM with her! I love traveling, singing, going to the beach, and vegetable gardening. When we retire, my dream is to start a community garden to provide access to fresh, local food!
- Meet Our 2024-2025 OSAY Board!
President - Treloar Price I am a twin mom + one, sushi addict, botanical garden fanatic, and lover of audio books played at a pace of 1.25. When I'm not homeschooling my trio, you can find me moonlighting as a clinical psychologist. After fourteen years and nine moves as a mil spouse, I've come to terms with my complicated relationship with rental house ovens and my growing collection of state psychology licenses. I love exploring new cultures with my family and have found Navy life to be a really fulfilling, if sometimes wildly stressful, adventure. I am originally from Sarasota, Florida, and our family home is in Annapolis, MD, where we were married and now own a little white cottage a quick walk from downtown. The friendship and mentoring I’ve found in spouse groups have been invaluable to me over the years—sharing tips, finding humor in the chaos, and embracing every transition with the loan of someone else’s great checklist. I have found OSAY to be a group that values individuality, friendship, and resilience, and as President of OSAY I am honored to support this amazing community of spouses. Vice President- Meghan Wilkens I'm a lifelong learner and mom to two incredible kids and I’m married to my forever crush, one of the best humans I’ve ever met. Despite the obstacles PCS season continuously presents, I’ve carved out a civilian career as a Sen. Program Manager at Google, where I wield spreadsheets and presentation slides. I have an insatiable thirst for travel (I’m on 5 continents and 55+ countries) and I have a growing collection of epic experiences collected like postcards from all over the world. In my downtime, you can find me curled up with a good historical fiction book or diving into one artistic pursuit or another (think less Picasso, and more "enthusiastic dabbler"). I strum my ukulele to clear my head, I sing Broadway hits in the shower, and I almost never pass an ice cream shop without buying a scoop - always in a cone, never in a cup, because I live dangerously. I’m well-acquainted with military life. I was a military child, I served as a Navy Supply Officer for 10 years on Active Duty and then another 4+ in the Reserves, and I’ve been a military spouse for 12 years. Military life is tough - I’ve laughed through the ups and cried through the downs, but in a military community like this one, I know we’ve all been there. I’m excited to serve OSAY and be part of a community that helps us all navigate the complexities and sacrifices that come with supporting a loved one in uniform (because it definitely isn’t always ‘smooth sailing’). Treasurer - Tasha Mangano Hello! My family and I arrived in June 2023 and have been loving life in Japan. Admittedly, I have only been a military spouse for a couple of years. So I am still adjusting to and learning all about this overseas life! I have a very active one-and-a-half-year-old daughter who keeps me busy and I hope to be able to attend more events than I did last year (Two shouldn't be hard to beat, haha.) Before coming to Yokosuka, I worked in the defense industry as a director of operations and recently completed my Masters from Purdue. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of OSAY gatherings and supporting each other as we navigate this adventure. See you around! You can find me on Ikego with my Golden-doodle Poi. Membership- Kristin Royster My name is Kristin Royster and I am a mom of two, and artist/small business owner. I live on main base with my husband Sam, and our two daughters, Avery (2.5yrs) and Jordan (2mos). We have also lived in Hawaii, Monterey, San Diego, and Panama City. My favorite things to do with what little free time I have are arts & crafts, reading books, adventuring out in town, going to the gym, and hanging out with friends! Events Manager- Jaclyn Herrmann Hello everyone! I've had the pleasure of living in Japan as a civilian spouse for four years. Originally from Virginia, our time in Japan has been incredibly enriching. My professional background is in education, which has allowed me to navigate this experience with curiosity and adaptability. We have two wonderful kids, and as a swim and dance mom, I enjoy cheering them on in their activities. One thing I love about living overseas is immersing ourselves in the rich culture and traditions of Japan. My family travels every chance we get as we love new experiences. I am excited to contribute to OSAY by coordinating meaningful events, connecting with fellow spouses, and sharing our unique experiences of life abroad. Secretary - Alexis Cates Hello! I'm Alexis or you can call me Lex. I'm from Mississippi but my life has been revolving around the military lifestyle for about 10 years now. In those 10 years, I have moved about what feels like a million times. We have only ever been stationed in Charleston, SC and Yokosuka, Japan and I must say Yokosuka, Japan is the top pick for us. We were stationed here in 2016-2020 (our first time conquering a deployment) and we had our first child while we were here (great experience by the way). My daughter, Cecilia is five and my son, Sebastian is two. I am always eager to get out and see something new, so we love being here in Japan. I'm still trying to learn the ropes of exploring Japan with two littles but we will get there. My hobbies include reading, baking, going to the beach, and binge-watching almost anything on Netflix. I am happy to have found OSAY because it is hard to get out there and find a community at a new duty station or just in a different stage of your life. They have made me feel welcome and I cannot wait to share the same with you all. I look forward to all of our events and getting to meet new friendly faces. Advisor - Pam Kacher I graduated from McDaniel College in 1991 with a degree in Business and Accounting. Shortly after graduation, I married my high school sweetheart in Annapolis, MD, and during 33 years of marriage, we’ve moved 17 times. I worked with mutual fund companies and as an accountant until becoming a mom. In 2001, just before a move, I gave birth to premature twin daughters who spent 8 weeks in navy hospitals; they were airlifted from Balboa to Bethesda. As a mom and moving frequently my professional life ebbed and flowed, I’ve worked as an MWR fitness instructor, a travel agent's assistant, and a bartender. I also keep busy volunteering and making crafts. I enjoy traveling and have taken advantage of visiting many countries while living overseas in Singapore, Belgium, & Japan.

Cheers to That: A Gameshow For All Of Your Navy Life Questions 11 March, 5:30pm, O'Club Bar Whether you've been in this life for a while, or you've just discovered we're called "dependents" on our IDs [shudder], navigating the Navy, especially overseas, can be a little overwhelming. Going through the first deployment, supporting your family and command as you transition to Department Head or Major Command, or trying to integrate your own career and aspirations with all of these transitions (not to mention the all important: figuring out where to thrift in Yokosuka!)… There's always something to learn, and we're here to Cheers to That! Please join us for a no-host happy hour as we pose our questions (Anonymously! Game show style!) to a panel of O spouse "experts," to make sure we get the most out of this Navy life. Expect real answers, lots of laughs, and appetizers on us. As my time in Yokosuka comes quickly to a close (and as our OSAY year goes sprinting towards our final party in May) I want to thank you for your support, encouragement, and community this year. As a volunteer-led, non-profit organization, a spouse club is only what the spouses make of it, and OSAY is such a positive group of interesting, kind, adventurous spouses. We have emphasized cultural events this year, allowing us to make friends and gain from our collective experience, as we check off our Japan bucket lists. I’ve loved learning how fake sushi is made (so much glue!), designing and decorating my front door with the traditional Kadomatsu decorations, and pounding the daylights out of hot rice to make mochi. We’ve had small book clubs, huge parties, learned how competitive you all are at games and trivia - and there is still so much more to come! Although I am sad to leave Yokosuka, I am leaving you in the best hands with your new President: Bri Ichull. Not only has she been an active member of OSAY this past year, she also has experience serving as President of a spouse group. She will be working alongside our new Treasurer, Mollie Morris, a CPA who is taking over for our current Treasurer, Tasha Mangano (also transferring this month!). The Navy is full of schedule surprises, and Bri and Mollie’s willingness to step in to fill our vacant board positions is a great example of the resilience of our OSAY membership. Please volunteer to serve on the 2025-2026 board! With gratitude, Treloar Price Farewell from our President and Treasurer! We Need You!
