About the event
Mochi pounding, or mochitsuki, is a Japanese tradition of pounding rice into mochi rice cakes. It's a winter tradition that is said to bring good fortune and is especially popular during the new year. This tradition is fun for all ages and kids are encouraged to participate. The mochi we make on site will be added to a soup called Ozuoni, which is a traditional new year meal in Japan.
Parking is very limited at the event site and only selected individuals with large vehicles will be permitted to drive. A sign up for carpooling will be coming soon.
Since this event is usually quite expensive due to the amount of preparation needed by the host, OSAY has voted to subsidize the cost. The adjusted prices are as follows:
Adults $15
Children $5
Children Kindergarten and below FREE
