About the event

Explore this 2.0-mile loop trail near Futtsu, Chiba. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 20 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

Thousand Five Hundred Statues of Arhats (Sengohyaku Rakan) is the group of Arhats (stone Buddhas) located on the main route in the ground of Nihonji Temple, which is between the Sancho Station of the Nokogiriyama Ropeway and the Nihonji Daibutsu statue. This group of 1,553 stone statues is said to be the largest in the world and is a sight to behold.

We will take our cars on the ferry over to Chiba, then drive to the parking lot near the trail.  We will need to leave base right after school drop off in hopes to return before school pick up.

What to bring:  good hiking boots/shoes, water, lunch/snack, yen
